July 2014 With Our Daughters & Grandkids

We have spent a lot of time on the road these past four years, and undoubtedly have missed many events with our Daughters & Grandkids.  It's a concious decision, be it ever so difficult to accept the tradeoff, but we have seen a lot of our country that we probably would have never seen.  We keep in pretty close contact with all of them via the may means of communications available these days.  So, we still participate, long distance if you will, nonetheless.  Above, Austin, Ali, Margaret, Maxwell, Maile, and Mason in front.
At home in Va Beach, Maile getting ready to slam dunk...
Mason in the back of the pick up...
Mason bouncing Maile's shot with his ball, I think.  He jumps pretty good!  His Dad is a basketball player too and a big Knicks fan.
Maxwell & Margaret with a giant cupcake...does it taste good Max?
Maile & Max at Chucky Cheese with Grandma...
Mason is really good for his size.  He has some real potential for being a jock...
Maile made a gazillion baskets at Chucky Cheese I'm told by Grandma...
I was able to share a few pointer on the art of fishing with Maxwell.  Here casts a few lures into Lake Mt Trashmore.  I did have to explain to him the difference between fishing & catching.  I think he understood as we came home with no fish!
At home on the pier with Mason & Max...
July 4 at Jen's house in Great Falls, VA and the old slip-n-slide...
The cookout on the 4th was a real nice time with family and few of Jen & Pete's friends as well.  Hot dogs, burgers and all the things of a July 4 day in America.
Ali & Mararet doing a little sun bathing (and warming)...
Aoure, Jen's Au Pair, giving a big hug to Ali...
Jen overseeing some gift giving (Ali's birthday) and later some fun & games with the kiddies...
Veggie tray and snacks and some drinks for some thirsty kids...
Ali & Mason getting ready to blow out the candles...Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you...well, you know the rest!
...and there it blows, er, goes...:-)
How far can you bob-in-the-bucket for the apple Ali?  Sounds poetic huh?
Yum!
Thank you Mommy!
Pete, Ali & their newest family member, Daisy, a Bernese Mountain Dog.   Daisy wants to help.
Ali & Jen...
Max, Mason (big smile) Margaret, Maile  Ali...
I'm really not asleep..
Ali helping with breakfast cracking the eggs...
Time for a few "hoops"...
Ali intent with something on TV...
Austin...
Daisy warming Jen's tootsies...Daisy is barely 4 months old and weighs 55 pounds already, and she pants for winter!
We are more than just friends; we are family!
We took in a ballgame at the Nationals Park in DC, and the home team won.  YEA!
Ali & Austin in their Nats' attire rooting for their team!
...and the celebrating ends on the field of play...
After the game, the kids got to run the bases.  Neat!
Jen retrieving her two base-running stars...
Free ice cream for everyone after the game just outside the park...yummy!
It was a long day Auntie Jen's...
I rooted for the Nats.  My Reds are losers this year!
Aoure, Jen. Pete and me.
Ali
Ali rounding third headed for home, with a little help...
Did I mention it was a long day?
Well, that's about all I have for our time with family in July.  It was cherished time and memories that will forever be imprinted in my mind and I'm sure in other's memories as well.  We made some memories for everyone, and thoroughly enjoyed every minute.  Love you family!  Till the next blog, from Marquette, MI, RVing Beach Bums signing off.
